Local control
A local panel supports setup, maintenance and direct equipment operation. The operator’s location, sight line and access controls must be defined.
Wireless remote control
Wireless control allows the operator to select a safer viewing position. Range, emergency behavior, battery management and communication-loss response must be specified.
Integrated remote control
A communication interface can connect the equipment with the driller’s or package control system. Signal lists, command ownership, permissives, interlocks and fault states require an agreed interface document.
Do not mix responsibilities
Every project should state which system owns each command and what happens when power, communication or hydraulic pressure is lost.
